EndNote

This guide provides an overview of EndNote, a bibliographic management software.

Using CWYW in Google Docs

Important Note: EndNote can format citations quickly; however, they may not always be accurate. EndNote is limited to using the information provided from databases to format citations. This information may not always be formatted per your citation style’s standards. We encourage you to check each reference to ensure it is cited correctly according to your citation style.

To insert a citation in your document:

1. Open the CWYW extension in your Google Doc

2. Log into the EndNote extension. (NOTE: Before you log in, you need to create a sync account to have access to your library.)

3. Your EndNote library should now appear on the right hand side of your screen. Place your cursor in the body of the text where you'd like to insert a citation. Click the check box to select the reference you want to insert and then click Insert Citation

4. After the citation has been inserted, click Update Citation. Your citation should now be formatted and a bibliography will appear at the end of your text.

5. To update your style, click the three line icon next to "My References" and then click Citation Style. From there, you can search for and select a new citation style.
