Exporting References from EndNote

This section provides instructions showing how to export references from your EndNote library to an XML file to use in systematic review software such as Covidence as well as how to export references to Excel.

Exporting References from EndNote to XML

1. Select the group you would like to export. In the example pictured below, the "Bullying" group set is highlighted. If you want to export your entire library, highlight "All References."

2. Go to File > Export
3. The Export file name dialog box will open. In the Save as type drop-down box, select XML (*.xml)
4. Name your file and select a location on your computer to save the file
5. Click Save. You can now upload the XML file into your systematic review software.
