This guide provides an overview of EndNote bibliographic management software.

Exporting from ProQuest

1. Run your search in ProQuest

2. Select the references you want to export by clicking the boxes on the left side of the screen. Click the Cite button at the top of the results.

3. The Cite dialog box will open. Under Export to a citation manager or file, select RIS Citavi, Mendeley, etc.

4. The Export/Save dialog box will open. In the Output to field, ensure that RIS (works with EndNote, Citavi, Mendeley etc.) is selected. In the Content field select Citation, abstract, indexing, PDF Link. Click Continue

5. A new window or tab will open on your browser showing the progress of the download.

6. When the download is complete, click on the file to open it. This will import your citation into EndNote, and your references will be temporarily stored in the Imported References folder. If you have set up smart groups, they will be automatically distributed into relevant groups. If not, you can manually distribute them to the appropriate group(s).
