Journal Abbreviations

Journal Abbreviations

Journals Term List is a file that contains a list of full journal titles and their corresponding abbreviations. EndNote uses this list to identify journals and abbreviations to display the full journal title or an abbreviated version when you insert references into Microsoft Word. The referencing style you are using will specify if the journal titles need to be in full journal titles or an abbreviated version.

To import journal names into your EndNote library:

1. On the EndNote toolbar go to Library > Open Term Lists > Journals Term List
2. The Term Lists dialog box will open. Delete the journals that are listed in the window by selecting all of the journals (right-click and Select All) and clicking Delete Term
3. Next, select the Lists tab and make sure the term Journals is highlighted. Then click Import List
