Sierra How-To Guide: Running the Clear EZ-Borrow List

Running the Clear EZBorrow List

Just like with regular holds patrons are given 2 weeks to pick up their EZBorrows.  If a patron has not picked up the item after that time we send the books back to the lending institution.  The Expired EZBorrow List makes pulling the expired EZBorrows easier by listing the name of the patron, the title of the book, and the DUQ# among other information.

Running the Expired EZBorrow List: To run the list of expired EZBorrows on the Holdshelf you have to be logged in to Sierra with your own credentials (not gCIRC2).

In the Function menu, select Clear Expired Holds and Holdshelf.

On the left side of the screen, under Holds, select EZB Holdshelf.

On the right side of the screen, under location, select Gumberg Library.

Click View.  This will generate a list of all of the expired EZBorrow.  Double click the Patron column to sort by patron name.

Print the list and then pull the listed books from the Holdshelf.  If there are books that you can't find on the Holdshelf or something appears to be incorrect then e-mail Zane (aurandtz@duq.edu).

If you were able to find all of the expired EZBorrows lookup each patron, check the item out to the patron (be sure to change the receipt printer so that the patron is not notified), and then check the item back in. The item can then be processed in Reshare in the "Returning a completed request" tab.

Next we will look at how to process new books.
