Inventory Media Equipment Returns

This step can be done upon return and check in if desk is slow. During busy times, set returned cameras aside on designated truck for inventory.

After camera kits/bundles are checked in, inventory the items using enclosed paper forms, or if paper form is missing, retrieve one from folder (add location)

Check that items returned in cases match with either existing inventory forms or new inventory form. If items are missing or damaged, let Jean and Zane know.

Zane contacts the patron, Jean alerts Media staff and camera is pulled and item status changed to “in repair” until the missing/damaged pieces are resolved.

Modifying An Equipment Reservation

Once a patron reserves a piece of equipment, staff can modify the booking if need be. If a patron requests their booking time be modified, remember to use this option only as a courtesy.

  1. Navigate to the "Equipment" icon and select it. Next, find the equipment booking you need to modify. It will be located under "Check Out," "Check In," or "Overdue" depending on the status of the item when you look to modify the booking.
  2. The "Return Date" is hyperlinked within the booking. Select the hyperlinked date to modify the booking
  3. From the "Update Booking" field, we can swap a piece of equipment (if a patron is late to bringing their equipment back, or if an itme was taken offline for repairs), choose a new "start time" and "end time" for the reservation by selecting the calendar icon, or cancel the booking. Be sure to select the "Send confirmation email to user" option to notify them their booking has changed, or has been canceled. Click "Update booking" if you have only changed the time of the reservation, and "Cancel Booking" if the reservation needs to be canceled, or the user has requested cancellation.
