Ann Labounsky Steele Sacred Music Collections: Dedication

Dedication of LibGuide

This Gumberg Library LibGuide is dedicated to Dr. Ann Labounsky,

Professor of Organ and Sacred Music at the Mary Pappert School of Music, Duquesne University.

Her efforts to develop a unique sacred music collection that supports student performance and scholarly research spans over four decades. Dr. Labounsky established the sacred music program at Duquesne University in 1976. Over the years, she has encouraged her colleagues and mentors to contribute their personal collections to Duquesne. These collections contain published scores, personal manuscripts, books, and materials of historical significance. Materials included in these collections are in the library’s general collection as well as in the University Archives located on the first floor of the Gumberg Library.

Thanks to Dr. Ann Labounsky’s insight and persistence, these sacred music collections will inspire students and scholars for years to come.
