One method to evaluate print and electronic sources is to utilize the CRAAP test.  Check your sources for the following criteria.
CURRENCY: When was the source written?
RELEVANCE: Who is the intended audience? Does it fit your research needs?
AUTHORITY: Who is the author and are they qualified?
ACCURACY: Where does the information come from and is it supported?
PURPOSE: Are there any political, institutional, cultural, or personal biases present?
