A guide on the resources available in Gumberg Library's LWW Health Library collections, including Acland's Video Atlas and Bates' Visual Guide

Self Assessment

Users can access self assessment quizzes in the LWW Health Library Medical Education, Board Review, and Clinical/Clerkship collections as well as Acland's Visual Atlas of Human Anatomy. 

This tool is only available to users with a free personal account. Please refer to the "Creating an Account" page of this guide for further details on account creation.

When logged in to an account, a user can access the self assessment tool by selecting the option on the homepage of any LWW Health Library collection or by navigating to the "Exam" page in Acland's.

Taking a Self Assessment

Quiz questions in LWW Health Library are divided into subject areas and topics that can be filtered or combined into custom quizzes. Questions in Acland's are grouped by the volume of videos they correspond to and cannot be customized.

To start a quiz, click on the blue button on the right of a topic. If you are in the LWW Health Library collections, take a quiz on an entire subject area, filter to that subject on the menu at left and select "Start Quiz" at the top of the page.

Use the menu that appears to change the number of questions in the quiz, limit time given per question, and change question focus and checking options.

Click on the start button and answer each of the multiple-choice questions.

After the quiz, check answers and review content with links directly to textbooks for remediation and further study.

Building and Saving a Quiz

Click on the boxes next to individual topics to include them in a custom quiz.

To view all subtopics included in an area, click on the plus sign at left of a topic. Check the boxes next to topics you would like to include in your quiz, including questions from more than one of the umbrella topics.

Select "Start Quiz" and give the quiz a name and custom options. 

Your custom quiz will be saved and appear in the "My Custom Quizzes" menu on the Self Assessment page.
