Gumberg for Alumni, Retirees, & Guest Borrowers

Borrow Materials from Gumberg Library

As an alumni, retiree, or guest borrower of Gumberg Library, access our Classic Catalog to view what we have in our catalog without needing a Duquesne Multipass login.

Picking Up Materials In Person 

  • Once you receive a "Ready for Pick-Up" notice to your Duquesne email:
    • Pick up your items from the Circulation Desk on the fourth floor of the library. See our library hours to find a time that works for you.
  • ​Items will be returned to the shelves if not picked up within two weeks of the email pickup notification. 

Shipping Materials to You

  • Once you receive a "Ready for Pick-Up" notice to your Duquesne email:
    • Email ask@duq.libanswers.com confirming the address you need the items mailed to
    • Materials cannot be mailed to PO Boxes.

Returning Items to Gumberg Library

  • For on-site returns: 

    • 24/7: drop your items off in our silver outdoor item drop off boxes next to the library's front doors 

    • *Exceptions include items from the Library of Things Collection and Curriculum Center Kits*
    • During open hours (DU ID may be required for building access): inside the library at the 4th Floor Circulation Desk.
  • For UPS returns:
    • Please complete the Return E-Label Request Form with the number of books you are returning, and we will email you a return e-label to your @duq.edu inbox.
    • We will send one e-label per week at your request. Packages can be dropped at any UPS drop off location near you.
    • Packages must not exceed 25 pounds
