Finding Full Text

A guide to accessing full text of published articles in Gumberg's collections, online, or with Interlibrary Loan

Interlibrary Loan (ILL)

Interlibrary loan (ILL) is a cooperative effort between libraries all over the world to allow users access to items not available at their home library.

Getting Started with ILL

To find it, click on the Research button on the Gumberg Library home page.

Then click Interlibrary Loan & E-ZBORROW.

A blue box that reads "Interlibrary Loan & E-ZBORROW" identical to the one on the Gumberg Resarch page.

When the new page opens, navigate to the ILLiad tab and click the Login to ILLiad button. You will be prompted to login using your MultiPass credentials.

Once you have entered your personal information, you are free to begin requesting materials!

Placing an ILL Request

While logged in to the ILL site, click the menu option for "New Request" on the left hand side. Select the option to request a Journal Article. A new page will open, and you will be required to enter the correct information within each field.

Where do I find the ISSN?

If you are unsure of the ISSN for the journal you are requesting, click the designated link beside the ISSN field.

When the Ulrich's window opens, enter the title of the journal in the search bar.

A search bar prompts a user to "Enter a Title, ISSN, or search term to find journals or other periodicals"

Find the journal you're looking for in the results table. In a column to the right of the title and publisher, you will see the ISSN number listed for each journal. Copy and paste the ISSN number of the print version of the journal into the required box.

Be sure to check the version of the journal on the far right of the table! Print and online versions of the same journal have different ISSN numbers. ILL typically uses print versions of journals, so you should always enter the ISSN corresponding to the print format if available.
