Safety Data Sheets
Chemical manufacturers generate safety data sheet (SDS), formerly known as a material safety data sheet (MSDS)following state and federal standards where the chemical is sold. These documents contain information such as hazard statements and first aid measures, including descriptions of potentially delayed exposure symptoms. In the United States, the format and contents of SDSs are set by OSHA and by state reporting laws.
Many SDSs can be found online via public databases or through a manufacturer's website. The sites below provide a starting point for locating SDSs online.
