What are Altmetrics?

Altmetrics "is the creation and study of new metrics based on the Social Web for analyzing, and informing scholarship."

Relative Citation Ratio / iCite  "A field-normalized metric that shows the citation impact of one or more articles relative to the average NIH-funded paper." The iCite tool allows you to check papers listed in PubMed and SPIRES and includes additional metrics.

Scopus / PlumX Metrics Many articles in Scopus include PlumX article level metrics. You must login using a Scopus/Elsevier account to see these metrics..
