Summer Searching Series

This series of six sessions is available to currently registered Duquesne faculty, graduate students, and staff.

Introduction

If you are an avid user of health sciences literature and would like to learn how to search and use the literature more effectively and efficiently, we invite you to participate in the Summer Searching Series.

You have the option to attend the live webinars between July 15 and August 14 or to participate asynchronously through Canvas.

We will take a deeper dive into key health sciences background information sources, databases, and search methods including:

  1. Background Sources
  2. Advanced Search Tactics
  3. Embase
  4. PubMed
  5. CINAHL
  6. Literature Searching Strategies

How to Participate

  1. Complete the registration form
  2. We'll send calendar invitations and Zoom links for each of the live webinars.
  3. You can attend the live webinars or participate asynchronously on your own time.
  4. If you are seeking the optional contact hours, you will need to:
    • Complete all six modules.
    • Submit post-tests and evaluations for all modules.

Continuing Education Contact Hours

  • Duquesne University, School of Nursing is accredited as a provider of nursing continuing professional development by the American Nurses Credentialing Center's Commission on Accreditation.
  • Contact hours will be offered for nursing, psychology, and social work. 
  • Up to six (6) hours will be available if all six modules, post-tests, and evaluations are completed.
