It is the raw material that makes up statistics. Data is often presented in a spreasheet and can be used to make your own statistics.

What are Statistics?

Statistics are "the collection, analysis, interpretation, and presentation of masses of numerical data." - Merriam-Webster

They are already analyzed information presented in the form of graphs, charts, and tables. They provide a better visual and overview of information at-a-glance.
