Han Kang (b. 1970) is a South Korean writer. Her literary career began in 1993 as a poet, and has published numerous prose works that have since garnered international acclaim, including the Man Booker Prize (2016) and the Nobel Prize (2024). She is the first Asian woman and the first South Korean to be awarded the Nobel Prize.
