Learn More About Using QuickSearch

Narrowing a Preset Search

If you run one of the searches on the Find Books tab and retrieve too many items to look through (as you would in the search for "Homer"), you can limit you search by using the QuickSearch Advanced Catalog Search.

To get to the QuickSearch Advanced Catalog Search, click on the blue button in the box on the right side of the screen.

On the QuickSearch Advanced Catalog Search screen, type the subject you wish to narrow in the first search box, and then change the menu on the left to "Subject." Next, type the concept you wish to add in the second search box. You can leave the menu to the left of this box set to "Keyword." Then click Search to run your search.

Search the QuickSearch Online Catalog for Yourself

Of course, you can search the online catalog for books on other gods, characters, places, and things mentioned in the myths, not just those listed on the Find Books tab. There we have only created subject searches for the main gods and characters. There are a myriad of other possibilities.

To search for other gods, characters, places and things, go to the QuickSearch Advanced Search screen. You can do that by clicking on blue button in the box on the right side of the screen

Once on the search screen, ype the name of the god, character, place or thing in the first search box. Then pull down the menu to the left of the search box and choose "Subject." Then click Search to run your search.
