Exploring Africa through Literature Book Group: Book Club

Literature lovers of the Duquesne community: join the Exploring Africa through Literature book group to discuss You're Not a Country, Africa: A Personal History of the African Present by author, Pius Adesanmi.

The group, led by Terra Merkey, Dr. Emad Mirmotahari, and Allie Reznik, will gather on November 11, 4-5:30pm in the Phenomenology Center, 1st floor, Gumberg Library to discuss selections from the book. Refreshments will be served. 

Scanned copies of selections for discussion will be on reserve (the password is africa). Or readers can purchase the Kindle edition of the book through Amazon.

Pius Adesanmi is a Professor in the Department of English Language and Literature and the Institute of African Studies at Carleton University. His book You're Not a Country, Africa was one of ten manuscripts shortlisted for the inaugural Penguin Prize for African Writing in the non-fiction category and was announced the winner at the Mail & Guardian Literary Festival on September 4, 2010.
