Finding Pre-Prints

Pre-print servers provide open access to articles that have not been peer reviewed or submitted for scholarly publication. In addition to being accessible at the domains listed below, pre-prints are now searchable in several databases using the "Publication Type" filter.

Note: Embase now includes results from bioRxiv and medRxiv when searching!

Open access to 1,500,749 e-prints in the fields of physics, mathematics, computer science, quantitative biology, quantitative finance, statistics, electrical engineering and systems science, and economics.

ChemRxiv ChemRxiv (pronounced 'chem-archive') is a free submission, distribution, and archive service for unpublished preprints in chemistry and related areas. ChemRxiv gives researchers across a broad range of fields related to the chemical sciences the opportunity to share early results with colleagues and receive recommendations for improvement, ahead of formal peer review and publication.
CiteSeerX CiteSeerX is a digital library including pre-print resources relating to computer and information science. Maintained by Penn State University.

EarthArXiv Active since 2017, EarthArXiv is a preprint server devoted to open scholarly communication. EarthArXiv publishes articles from all subdomains of Earth Science and related domains of planetary science. The EarthArXiv platform assigns each submission a Digital Object Identifier (DOI), therefore assigning provenance and making it citable in other scholarly works.
