This guide seeks to assist the research efforts and support the clinical practice of Duquesne University Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) students. It brings together selected relevant Gumberg Library resources and additional websites.
Some of the links connect to resources that are only available to current Duquesne University students, faculty, and staff. These resources will require your Duquesne University ID number or MultiPass credentials if you are working off-campus.
A Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) is a healthcare provider who works in a variety of settings, such as hospitals, hospice care centers, and clinics.
FNPs diagnose and treat patients for diseases and illnesses, in addition to prescribing medications. FNPs are also interested in overall patient health and wellness, and patient education and counseling.
This guide is organized into six main parts- Home, Research, Writing, Learning, Networking, and Duquesne.
The Research section divides farther into five separate categories.
The Writing section contains resources, services, and other guides to help you write more effectively.
The Learning section provides links to online tools. This section is divided into three sections.
The fifth section, Networking, is divided into three sections to assist in career development.
Finally, the Duquesne section supports Duquesne's FNP students with information about the department, student organizations, and requirements.
