This interactive website includes an audio tour, an interactive map, and timeline that detail the important dates, sites, and events from the Whiskey Rebellion (1791-1794). This digital history project was created by Stephanie Krom from New York University.


The 1791 Excise Tax imposed by the United States government can be viewed from the Library of Congress's American Memory collection.

The Whiskey Rebellion Festival in Washington, PA celebrates the heritage and unique character of the region by recognizing the historical significance of the Whiskey Rebellion. The festival honors the period in American history with historic reenactments, period exhibitions, frontier art, heritage music and food, and demonstrations to acknowledge the cultural history of the rebellion.
