He is the world's most popular saint, and not just among Roman Catholics. Francis of Assisi has captured the attention of the public from the 13th century to the present. As is well-known, the current pope took the name "Francis" to honor this charismatic holy man and to seek to reawaken in the contemporary Church St. Francis's spirit of passion, devotion, and care for the world around us. This guide will connect Duquesne University researchers to many kinds of resources available at the Gumberg Library on St. Francis and the movement to which he gave birth.
