You may also wish to consult the MLA Style Center online, which contains many useful guides and regular updates to frequently asked questions

The navigation links will show you how to set up your paper in MLA format, and how to properly cite a variety of resources, both in your Works Cited list and within your paper using in-text citations.

Caution

If you use machine-generated citations - from databases or online citation machines - make sure to check them carefully against the examples in this guide! They frequently contain errors and/or use outdated style guidelines.
