Front Entrance & Desk: The front doors and front desk will be redesigned to make the library more dynamic and welcoming.
Curriculum Center: The Curriculum Center will be relocated and upgraded, making it more accessible and relevant for students and faculty.
Study Area: The open study area on the 4th floor will receive new carpet, lighting, paint, and a refreshed ceiling.
Flexible Seating: A variety of flexible seating options will be added to accommodate diverse student study needs.
Library of Things: New storage and display options will make the Library of Things collection more visible and accessible.
Grab & Go: A self-serve Grab & Go station will be installed for easy access to nourishment and refreshments.
Yes, most library services will remain operational during the renovation. However, there will be a few exceptions related to the closure of specific spaces:
FlexTech Room 408: This room will be unavailable for classes and orientations. These will be held elsewhere on campus or online.
Popular Reading Room: This room will be closed for exhibitions and events. Alternative spaces will be provided for events on a case-by-case basis.
4th Floor Entrance & Group Study Rooms: The 4th floor entrance will be closed, and the Group Study rooms will be unavailable.
5th Floor Event Spaces: These spaces will be reserved for student study but will be available for select events such as FAST.
While the renovation is taking place, library services normally located on the 4th floor will be temporarily moved to the following areas:
Main Library Entrance: Access will be through the Wellbeing Center door (SW corner, 3rd floor). A service desk will be available at this entrance for returns and holds.
Circulation Services: Circulation services, including printers, copiers, and ASD staff, will be on the 5th floor.
Research Consultations & Faculty Services: These will be relocated to the 5th floor as well.
Systems & Scholarly Communications, ETDs: These services will be temporarily relocated to the 1st floor.
