The Latin American Boom was a literary movement that took place in the 1960s and 1970s when the works of a group of Latin American novelists were being widely publicized and circulated around the world, especially in Europe. It was influenced by Modernism, both from North America and Europe, as well as the Vanguardia movement, from Latin America, particularly Cuban.
