Career Development

Career Development International provides coverage of the following topics: Individual careers - psychological and developmmental perspectives; Career interventions; HR planning and recruitment; Organizational strategies and systems; Performance management; Work and occupational contexts.

The Career Development Quarterly (CDQ) is the official journal of the National Career Development Association (NCDA), a division of the American Counseling Association.

The International Journal for Educational and Vocational Guidance publishes articles in relation to work and leisure, career development, career counselling and guidance and career education, which have preferably either an international content (e.g. comparative studies, multi or cross-cultural perspectives, regional surveys, etc.) or contribute to topics of broad international interest (e.g. theoretical developments, ethical issues, etc.).

The Journal of Career Assessment has provided methodologically sound, empirically based studies focusing on assessment, career development, and vocational psychology. Regarding assessment, the journal covers the various techniques, tests, inventories, rating scales, interview schedules, surveys, and direct observational methods used in scientifically based practice and research to provide an improved understanding of career decision-making. Regarding career development and vocational psychology, the journal covers all topics falling under each of these areas, especially those from a psychological perspective that have career counseling implications.

The Journal of Career Development (JCD) provides professionals in counseling, psychology, education, student personnel, human resources, and business management with the most up-to-date concepts, ideas, and methodology in career development theory, research, and practice. Journal of Employment Counseling (JEC) is the official journal of the National Employment Counseling Association (NECA), a division of the American Counseling Association. Journal of Employment Counseling (JEC) illuminates theory and practice in employment counseling, reports professional experimentation and research, and examines current client vocational problems as well as the professional concerns of counselors.

The Journal of the National Institute for Career Education and Counselling is published twice a year in partnership with the Career Development Institute (CDI). The Journal publishes articles on the broad theme of career development in all contexts including: Career development in the workplace; Career development in education; Career development in the community. It is designed to be read by individuals who are involved in career development-related work in a wide range of settings.

The Journal of Vocational Behavior publishes original empirical and theoretical articles that contribute novel insights to the fields of career choice, career development, and work adjustment across the lifespan and which are also valuable for applications in counseling and career development programs in colleges and universities, business and industry, government, and the military.
The Journal primarily focuses on investigations of individual decision-making about work and careers rather than studies of employer or organizational-level variables. Example topics include initial career choices (e.g., choice of major, initial choice of work or organization, organizational attraction), the development of a career, work transitions, work-family management, work adjustment and attitudes within the workplace (such as work commitment, multiple role management, turnover).
