Gumberg Library uses a system called "ReShare," created by PALCI (Partnership for Academic Library Collaboration and Innovation) to share materials with other libraries in the Pennsylvania, New York, New Jersey, and West Virginia. Reshare databases can access the catalogues from 60+ participating libraries, and allows patrons to borrow items from other libraries that their home library (for example, Gumberg Library for Duquesne patrons) does not own. Patron's from other libraries can borrow Gumberg Library's items as well. These requests are placed by patrons through a system called EZBorrow (connected to ReShare) and are often referred to as "EZBorrow requests/items."
