Journal Databases: Which One to Use?: Home

Welcome!

Because Gumberg Library subscribes to so many databases (over 200 of them!), new researchers are often overwhelmed by the sheer wealth of information available. If this describes you, then this research guide will be of help.

First, it introduces you to two databases that index both popular sources (magazines, newspapers, and trade publications) and scholarly journals. And each contains lots of full text.

Next, this guide lists the most important databases for finding articles in the scholarly journals of specific academic disciplines, essential when you want to do in-depth research in a subject area.

Finally, it lists databases that index selected scholarly journals in many academic disciplines, which you might use to make sure you have not missed anything important.

We hope you will find our suggestions useful. If you need further help, Ask a Librarian.

To see all 200+ databases available, click the "Research Databases" link on the blue bar at the top of the screen.
