The Certification Board for Music Therapists (CBMT) is an autonomous certifying agency that grants the credential Music Therapist – Board Certified (MT-BC) to music therapists who have demonstrated the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to practice at the current level of the profession. This organization is also working in conjunction with AMTA on the State Recognition Operational Plan to help states achieve recognition for the music therapy profession and the MT-BC credential required for competent practice.
