Borrow from Other Libraries

Using ILLiad

ILLiad is a system used to search and request articles, book chapters, scores, media, dissertations, and more from libraries not only in the Pennsylvania region, but from around the world. We advise our students and staff to use this system when Gumberg Library and EZBorrow do not have the item they are searching for.

To use ILLiad, perform the following.

  1. Go to https://guides.library.duq.edu/ill
  2. Login with your Duquesne multipass username and password
  3. Select the type of request you need to submit on the left hand side of the page
  4. Enter title, author, and/or other search terms in the appropriate fields. Please be sure to enter the ISSN or ISBN number for each request. Failing to do so will likely result in the request going unfilled.
  5. Select Submit Request
  6. ILLiad items typically take about 1-2 weeks to arrive at Gumberg Library for pickup. Items can be checked out for a minimum of 8 weeks with no renewals.

When the book you have requested arrives at Gumberg Library, you will receive an e-mail notification. You can view the ILLiad items you have borrowed from other libraries on your library account.

For any questions about requesting an item from another library through ILLiad, please contact us at 412.396.6130 or ask@duq.libanswers.com.
