How to find Ebooks Using QuickSearch

Gumberg Library can provide you with access to hundreds of thousands of ebooks.

How do you find them?

1. Do a search (Author, Title, Subject, or Keyword) in the QuickSearch online catalog. You can do this from the search box on the Gumberg Library homepage. It is recommended that you use the Advanced Search, which will permit you to be more exact in your searching.

Doing a search will bring up a result containing database records for printed books, ebooks, and articles that meet your search criteria.

In a search result, ebooks are designated in two ways, by the format type "eBook" and the phrase "electronic resource."

2. To see only the ebooks from a search, go to the "Format" menu on the left side of the screen. Look for "EBooks" in that list. Next to that link, if it appears, you will see in parentheses the number of ebooks meeting your search criteria. Click on "EBooks" to see the ebooks for that search.

4. If you do not see "EBooks" on the Format menu, go to the bottom of the Format menu and click on "More." This will show you all the different formats of materials available for that search. Find EBooks and click on it to see the ebooks for that search.

If you do not see EBooks listed, it means there are no ebooks for that search.

4. To access an ebook, click either on the ebook title or on the "eBook" button on the right.
