E-ZBorrow FAQ

What is E-ZBorrow & why should I use it?

  • A quick way for you to borrow books from more than 50 academic libraries throughout Pennsylvania, New York, New Jersey, and West Virginia.
  • You may keep an E-ZBorrow book for up to 16 weeks - a whole semester!

Who may use E-ZBorrow?

  • Any current Duquesne student, faculty, staff, or administrator
  • We are currently piloting a system to ship E-ZBorrow books to distance learning students!
    • ​Request a book through E-ZBorrow
    • When you receive an email notice that your book is ready for pickup, simply call the Circulation Desk (412) 396-6130
    • We'll verify your permanent home address and ship it through UPS. 
    • Return it to Gumberg Library by the due date using the prepaid return shipping label.

How can I access E-ZBorrow?

  • Enter your 16-digit DU Card number in the login box. (Yeah, we agree it's kind of a pain...)

When and where can I pick up my requests?

  • E-ZBorrow items arrive in 2-5 business days.
  • You will receive two emails:
    • 1st email: You've submitted a request through E-ZBorrow!
    • 2nd email: Your E-ZBorrow book is avialable for pick-up at the Gumberg Library Circulation Desk
    • OR: This book isn't available through E-ZBorrow at this time. Please place a request through ILLiad, noting it's not available in EZB.
  • You have 2 weeks to pick them up at the Circulation Desk on the 4th floor of Gumberg Library from the time you receive the 2nd email.

Can I use E-ZBorrow to obtain journal articles, audiovisuals, and other materials?

  • Yes, you can borrow selected audiovisuals at the lending libraries' discretion
  • No, you cannot obtain journal articles using E-ZBorrow. Try ILLiad!
