You can access these resources off-campus by logging in with your MultiPass account. Alternatively, you can use your 16-digit DU ID number. See the DU Card Center for more information.

Delivery of Books and Articles

Need books and journal articles you can't find online? Gumberg Library materials, and items from other libraries, can be sent to you through the ILLiad service. Go to ILLiad to register as a "First Time User".

Note: Be sure to select "GraduateDistance" or "UndergradDistance" in the Status section of the ILLiad registration form.

Books are shipped free of charge through ILLiad, but you must pay return shipping.

Articles are delivered electronically whenever possible. Typically there is no charge for this service.

Renew Library Materials Ordered Through ILLiad

Renewals must be made using your ILLiad account or by calling the InterLibrary Loan Dept. at 412.396.5341.

See ILL FAQs or contact Interlibrary Loan at 412.396.5341.

Research Assistance

If you have a question or need research assistance, Ask a Librarian:

  • Telephone - 412.396.6133. Telephone reference service is available when the Reference Desk is staffed.
  • Live Chat - Chat with a librarian 24/7 with Ask Here PA. While you may receive assistance from a Gumberg librarian, you are more likely to be chatting with a reference librarian from a cooperating institution, especially late at night.
  • Email - Email your question to a Gumberg reference librarian. A librarian will respond within 36 hours.
  • Text a Librarian - Text a Gumberg reference librarian whenever the Reference Desk is staffed. Send your text to 66746. Start the body of the text with keyword askduq, then a space, followed by your question.
