Gumberg Library subscribes to a number of collections of electronic reference works. These cover all subject areas, and in most cases, you are able to search all the titles in a collection at once. This means you do not have to have in mind a particular book to search.
A great place to begin researching any topic, psychology included, is with reference works, such as encyclopedias and dictionaries. These will give factual, usually objective, treatments of a subject, providing basic information in articles that are relatively short in length. They are particularly useful to students who are trying to narrow a topic for research in that they break broader topics down into sub-topics, showing students their various choices as far as narrower topics are concerned. They are also great places to get basic biographical information on famous psychologists without reading a whole book.
