Women in STEM: Jane Goodall

Jane GoodallJane Goodall (1934- ) is a primatologist and conservationist. She is an expert on chimpanzees and discovered both their use of tools and ability to make tools while observing them in Tanzania in 1960. She also discovered that chimpanzees eat meat, and observed their different personalities and social structures. She advocates for animals and the environment through the Jane Goodall Institute as well as through her research, writing, and public speaking.
