Motto: "It is the Spirit Who gives life."
We use books because a book gives a comprehensive picture of a subject, going into great detail on many aspects of it. A book will summarize information from possibly hundreds of other resources. A few good books on a topic can form the core of your research. The tool we use at the Gumberg Library to find books is the QuickSearch online catalog
To search QuickSearch for books and other materials accessible through the Gumberg Library, click on the big blue button directly below.
You can also get to QuickSearch by clicking on the link on the blue menu at the top of the screen, or the link in the "Library Links" box on the left side of the screen.
The default search in QuickSearch is a Keyword search, looking for your search words in any places they might appear in the catalog records. You can do more precise searches by clicking on the Advanced Search link. This will enable you to do the types of searches listed below, in addition to the Keyword search. It will also enable you to combine different kinds of searches (for example, searching by Author and Title).
