Search for Yourself

The books listed on this research guide are only a selection of those works of creative literature available by black African writers. To find others, see the examples below. The searches demonstrated are performed using the DUQSearch Advanced Catalog Search. Click the blue button on the left side of the screen to go to the DUQSearch Advanced Search interface.

Title Search

Let's say you are interested in finding a particular novel by an African writer. You know the title, but how would you search the DUQSearch Advanced Search for it?

1. On the DUQSearch Advanced Catalog Search screen, type the title of the work in the first search box. Then pull down the menu to the left of the search box and choose "Title." This will tell the search engine to perform a title search for that work. Then click the Search button.
