How to Find Multimedia Adaptations

Searching for a sound recording in QuickSearch:
To locate a sound recording of a play or performance, enter the name of the production and change the drop-down box to title. At the bottom of the search box under Format, select Sound Recording and run the search.

On the search results page, you will notice that the call number listed below the title information starts with CD, and the note [sound recording] is listed to the right of the title. Scroll through the results to find your selection.

Searching for a videorecording in QuickSearch:
The search for a videorecording or motion picture is similar to the instructions above. Enter the movie title in the search box and select title from the drop-down menu, and change the Format below the search fields to Video and run the search.

You will notice that next to the title results are two different descriptors: (Motion picture) and [videorecording]. While this example includes DVDs for both descriptor, it is best to double-check by clicking the Details button to the left of the results for more information.
