3D Printing at Gumberg Library

Gumberg Library has recently acquired a 3D printer from the Department of Chemistry & Biochemistry so that we can make it more accessible to all members of the Duquesne community.

If you'd like to print a design, here's what you need to know:

  • While we determine our service model, printing services are available to all members of the Duquesne community free of charge.
  • Contact the Digital Scholarship Librarian, Gesina Phillips (phillipsg@duq.edu) to set up a print consultation.
  • Make sure you have a .stl file for the print job you would like to send.
  • Please allow up to one week for print completion.

Details about the printer:

  • CubePro Trio
  • Layer thickness: 70, 200, or 300 microns
  • Maximum print size: 7.89(w) x 9.06(h) x 10.6(d) inches / 20.04(w) x 23(h) x 27.04(d) cm
    • Note: Gumberg Library reserves the right to deny prints even within these specifications.
  • Print material: ABS Plastic

Current colors:

  • Blue

Gumberg Library reserves the right to refuse individual prints for reasons including but not limited to:

  • Object is too large or too detailed
  • Object is not designed in a way that will allow a viable print
  • Object violates copyright, trademark, or patent law
  • Object violates Duquesne TAPs or other policy
